A Warm Invitation to Church

This blog has been permanently relocated to https://www.removingbarriers.net Redirecting in seconds... Matthew 4:19 (And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.) “I do not care if you ever darken the doors of my church.” I would often say this to folks I am sharing the gospel with. My wife Jay did not like the tone of that statement and asked me to stop saying it. Tone aside, however, I mean it. I first said it to a person who accused me of evangelizing because I want more people to come to my church so offerings can increase. Our youth pastor lamented in a recent sermon, “We invite folks to a location rather than to the Person of Jesus Christ. That captures perfectly what I have felt all along. Too often, Bible believing Christians make it a habit to invite folks to a location. I decided years ago that I will never invite anyone to church without first tryin...

Christians and Firearms

 Episode 6

In this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast we had “MD” join us to talk about firearms, the 2nd amendment, and gun ownership. Discussion about firearms has been highly politicized, ownership of weapons are at times are looked down upon, and it can also be barrier to sharing the gospel.

We looked at some of the basics of firearms and talked a bit about the AR15, M16, and other firearms. We discussed whether it is a God-given right to own a firearm, and whether gun ownership demonstrates lack of trust in God. Furthermore, we discussed mass shootings and what can be done about them.

We ended the episode with the only solution to mass shooting: the changing of human heart through salvation in Jesus Christ.

Introduction to the Removing Barriers Podcast

This blog has been permanently relocated to https://www.removingbarriers.net Redirecting in seconds... With the civil unrest,  heightened political climate, changing American culture, and the inability to act ually go door-to-door witnessing due to COVID-19, my wife and I decided to start a podcast with the sole purpose of sharing the gospel by addressing the many obstacles preventing others from seeing the cross of Jesus clearly. In Acts 2, Peter preached to the Jews and presented to them Jesus Christ the Messiah. This was because the Jews already knew about God the creator, sin, and sin's consequences. The barrier that needed to be removed was whether Jesus was the Messiah. Contrast that with Acts 17, where Paul preached to the Athenians and defended the faith by proving that the unknown God they ignorantly worshiped was the creator of the world. Notice that while the message of the...

This blog has been permanently relocated to https://www.removingbarriers.net Redirecting in seconds... Episode 31 In this episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast, MD joined us in discussing the circumstances surrounding the shootings involving Kyle Rittenhouse. Was he at a protest protected by the first amendment or was he at a riot? What difference will that make in is trial? Was it wise for a 17 year old to be out helping in such a volatile/hostile situation? Were the police negligent when they drove past him? Is there any blame to be laid at the parents’ feet? We then looked at all the charges against Kyle Rittenhouse and offered our verdict in the court of the Removing Barriers Podcast: Innocent or guilty? Murderer or self-defender? The episode ends like we end all others: with a clear presentation of the gospel. Contact us: Leave us a vo...
